What Our Clients Say

This is excellent work product, immediately useful to us for the legal entitlement memorandum. Please pass along our thanks to your staff. They have my professional respect.

Navy Office of the General Counsel

Our strong core of clerical and legal staff performs document review services, in order to gather information and provide assessments of relevancy and privilege for production purposes. We also provide other legal support services as needed to help your organization address the various needs of litigation matters, in an efficient and cost-effective manner.

The benefit to you?

IE Discovery’s Review and other legal services provide greater scalability for counsel faced with complex litigation, without requiring the addition of in-house or law firm staff. In addition, the workflow management capabilities offered by ReviewDox® result in a streamlined, efficient review process to support your organization in even the most urgent, deadline-intensive matters. Some of the review services we offer include:

  • Document Coding/Indexing

Using a document database without coded data can minimize the attorneys’ ability to effectively search the archive for important information, converted hard copy documents, or electronic files without useful metadata. IE Discovery provides coding services to capture objective and subjective data from documents, which enables your organization to maximize search capabilities and generate privilege and production logs, and other meaningful reports. Those coding services can be provided within our facilities or through proven offshore coding partners, depending on the needs of your organization.

  • AutoReview and AutoPrioritize

AutoReview is our proprietary service that offers automatic filtering to identify potentially relevant and/or privileged files. We work with the client’s subject matter expert to define criteria for AutoReview and provide technical expertise to maximize the recall of the criteria (e.g., including abbreviations, acronyms, synonyms, etc.). As opposed to some conceptual search models that can be a “black box” in terms of how data is included or excluded during the selection process, AutoReview is a highly documented, defendable and transparent process that satisfies courts and minimizes objections by opposing counsel.

AutoPrioritize is our proprietary service that implements a weighting system to organize files as to their importance to the particular case or present need. For example: In an employment litigation case, we might assign ten points to any file mentioning the plaintiff; ten points to any file mentioning the plaintiff’s supervisor; and 30 points to any file mentioning both the plaintiff and the supervisor. AutoPrioritize can be used as a “first-pass” tool for relevancy or privilege reviews. Terms such as “attorney work product,” “privileged” or “confidential” can also receive points. The end result is the most important files receive a higher score and are reviewed first, enabling our clients to work with those files they deem most important and/or respond to rolling production requests with highly relevant materials.

  • Relevancy/Privilege Review

IE Discovery offers highly trained and experienced legal professionals to perform reviews for relevancy, privilege, and issue coding, as required—at a fraction of the cost of retaining outside counsel staff for these services. Often, we work under the guidelines provided by outside counsel for each review. This affords them the ability to maintain control over the review, while providing additional resources to meet deadlines. Our Review process is performed using ReviewDox®, a Web-enabled application on the InfoDox® platform that allows us to feed batches of documents to particular reviewers, based on the requirements of your organization. ReviewDox® also offers reporting features that allow us to track who reviewed each document in each phase and the time it was reviewed. These reports further enable us to track the volume and rate of review by person for a given period of time, ensuring accurate metrics and timeframe estimates for completion.

Additionally, the InfoDox® platform enables Native File Review—the review of electronic files in their original or native format without conversion to a standard format (TIFF or PDF) first, to determine whether they should be included in production. Reviewing files natively can provide you with a substantial strategic litigation advantage by reducing e-discovery costs and shortening review and production timeframes.

  • General Legal Services

In addition to document review services and trial support, IE Discovery provides a full array of services to support our clients, whether they are in-house or outside counsel. We perform strategic data organization and targeted data searching, draft discovery and conduct factual and legal research. We also prepare pleadings, motions, and legal analysis and conduct witness interviews. Clients often rely on us for deposition support, expert witness support, and trial notebook preparation. Finally, we also provide class action assistance with opt-out and other notices, including mailing notices, tracking receipts, and updating address changes. These services can be vital when legal support staff cannot readily be made available within your organization, and represent a fraction of the cost of retaining outside counsel staff for these services.
