Chris May, CEO

Chris brings more than 17 years of experience in designing and developing Discovery Management technologies and litigation support systems to his role as CEO of IE Discovery.

While still pursuing undergraduate studies, Chris gained hands-on practical experience in litigation support working for the Austin-based firm of Graves, Dougherty, Hearon & Moody, P.C. Prior to earning his B.A. in Economics from the University of Texas in 1993, Chris signed on at IE Discovery—then a fledgling information technology consultancy with a two-person staff. Chris was appointed as President in 2001. Under his technological guidance, IE Discovery released InfoDox® in 1999—the first Web-enabled discovery management solution designed specifically for the demand-driven litigation environment.

Chris has participated as a speaker at LegalTech and LawNet conferences, and he brings both hands-on practical knowledge and deep technical insight to IE Discovery’s government and corporate lawyer clients. Chris has recently been published, and lectures on important legal technology topics such as optimizing electronic discovery, and designing corporate document and data retention policies.

Bill Detamore, CFO

Bill joined IE Discovery in 2001 and currently serves as the Director of Business Development, designing cost-effective Discovery Management solutions for the company’s clientele. Bill focuses his legal expertise and technological aptitude on overcoming e-discovery challenges.

An attorney with six years of complex commercial litigation experience, Bill came to IE Discovery from Tulsa-based Gable & Gotwals, where he represented clients in a variety of industries, including banking, energy and insurance. Bill helps clients resolve complex disputes and has appeared in state and federal courts as well as various ADR proceedings.

Bill has authored numerous articles on legal, technology, and law department management issues. A frequent speaker at CLEs and industry trade shows, Bill graduated with distinction from the University of Oklahoma with a Juris Doctor degree. He also holds a B.B.A. in Accounting from the University of Texas. Bill is a member of the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Oklahoma, and the Association of Corporate Counsel.

Chris Knox, CIO

With 12 years of project and resource management experience, Chris is Chief Information Officer at IE Discovery. He is responsible for the implementation of strategic initiatives and IT expenditures, as well as the development of company-wide operating procedures. Additional responsibilities include the oversight of enterprise architecture and process design development and implementation. Chris graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Engineering and received his MBA from Syracuse University.

Prior to IE Discovery, Chris designed and implemented data collection networks for software developers and Fortune 500 corporations. Chris also previously created Geographic Information Systems for large municipalities, specializing in the development of algorithms for hydraulic models.

Pat McColloch, Director, Client Services

Responsible for IE Discovery's service delivery to all clients, Pat possesses more than 20 years of experience in managing discovery, litigation, and enforcement support solutions. The Project Managers in Pat's team are responsible for ensuring exceptional consulting and delivery services throughout each stage of the discovery management cycle.

Pat has directed automated litigation support services on cases of all sizes, covering a wide variety of subject matter—including environmental and labor workforce disputes, as well as complex contracts litigation. He holds a Master of Science degree in Agricultural Economics from Oklahoma State University and a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University. His speaking and Continuing Legal Education (CLE) engagements have covered topics such as electronic metadata, e-discovery, working with structured data and litigation support solutions.

John Jackson, Director, Operations

With sixteen years of industry experience, John joined IE Discovery in 2006 as the Director of Operations. He is responsible for the day to day execution of client services including forensics, discovery, collection, coding, processing, E-Discovery, data analysis, production, and Document Review. In addition to execution of E-Discovery services , John’s teams are responsible for the ongoing process of improvements in capacity, process, technology, and vendor management.

John graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland with a degree in Aerospace Engineering. As a Naval Officer, he served as an officer on fast-attack submarines and provided intelligence and analytical support, as well as leadership to the Naval Space Command. After leaving the service, John joined Austin-based Dell, Inc. as a Program Manager in R&D and Services. In that role, he led large project teams and initiatives focusing on product development, process improvement, and operational execution. During this time, John completed his Masters of Science in Telecommunications at Southern Methodist University. John also carries the Project Management Professional (PMP), and Certified Information Systems Security Professional certifications (CISSP) titles.  After transitioning to Lucent Technologies in Washington D.C., John leveraged his civilian and military background to manage government contracts and initiatives, including proposal, capture, and post-award support for the Department of Defense and Intelligence communities. With exposure to multiple levels of management, John brings a distinctive management style to IE Discovery. His unparalleled experience is an invaluable resource in assisting our clients with the complex operational issues they face day to day.
